Cue “Changes” by David Bowie – Time may change me, but I can’t trace time.
Change and life seem to be synonymous lately. My school district is going through major changes right now; directors, superintendents and principals. Personally, 2 of my principals have left the schools they were leading and our director of fine arts has retired. He’d been my direct supervisor for many years.
Loss. So many of my friends have experienced heartbreaking losses these past few months. This is never easy and sometimes it seems we’ll never see the other side of disabling grief. I wish I had words to help but I seldom do. A warm hug, tears shed and prayers offered. So often when we feel helpless that’s the best we can do and that’s ok. Truly, if you’re able to let someone know that they’re in your heart or that you’re thinking of them, it helps. Grief isn’t anything we can fix even though we desperately grasp at the thoughts of how to “make it all better”. The only thing we can do is let people know we love them.
